May 24, 2007 - Every month, the familiar blue Valpak envelope brings unique on-envelope promotions and sweepstakes to consumers that typically feature cash and prize giveaways.

During the month of May, Budget Blinds, a leader in custom window treatments, will appear on the Valpak envelope and give consumers the chance to win $100,000 in prizes. 44 million Valpak envelopes featuring Budget Blinds and Kathy Ireland Home by Alta will be mailed to households throughout the United States and Canada.

One grand prize winner will decorate their home with $25,000 in Budget Blinds products, and an additional 150 winners will receive Budget Blinds products in the form of $500 gift cards, totaling another $75,000. Entry forms can be found in specially marked Valpak envelopes and consumers can also register at Valpak.com.

Budget Blinds is including the promotion in a national commercial campaign airing during the month of May. The commercials are scheduled to appear on A&E, Discovery Home, DIY, HGTV, Oxygen, Soapnet, and TLC networks.

In addition, Budget Blinds is projected to mail approximately 100 million Valpak coupons over the next year.

Ellianos Drive-Thru Coffee Franchise Buys Firefighters a Drink

ellianos.jpg Last week, Ellianos Coffee Company will offer firefighters and police officers a free medium specialty drink all next week (May 21 - May 25) to lift spirits during the exhausting fight against the blazing fires affecting North Florida and South Georgia.

Firefighters and police working to contain the blaze can drive-thru any of Ellianos Coffee Company’s participating franchise locations to receive their free specialty beverage. They may choose from any drink on the menu, including: hot coffee and espresso drinks to give them extra energy to fight the blaze, or refreshing iced lattes, latte freezers or fruit smoothies to cool them down after a long shift.

“We love to give back to the community,” says President Mick Rynning. “We are calling this initiative Service+1, as we always strive to provide the best service to our customers, but we want to do one better by giving back to the community and providing service above and beyond expectations. It’s our way of showing our deepest appreciation to those who risk their lives to keep our communities safe from harm.”

Firefighters and police were asked to either be in uniform or show a badge in order to redeem their free drink.
